Barbara A. Taulbert
Barbara Taulbert comes from a farm family where her parents were Soybean and Rice farmers
in the Arkansas Delta. Growing up, Barbara had her eyes set on becoming a nurse—a course of
study she pursued while a student at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Although she
didn’t complete her plan, this Arkansas native married and along with her husband started a
family, but she continued to embrace her passion to cook—a passion that has shown up as a
guest in Southern Living Magazine and Cooking Light. Her greatest joy would be sharing her
passion with her young daughter Anne Kathryn. That joy was short lived in that the SICKLE CELL
DISEASE cut Anne’s life short. Eventually, Barbara’s love for her daughter became the catalyst
that involved her with the SICKLE CELL organization where she actively participates and along
with her husband manages the ANNE KATHRYN SICKLE CELL FUND—to assist in sending
Oklahoma youth with the SICKLE CELL DISEASE to summer camp.
Barbara lives in Tulsa with her husband Clifton Taulbert and they work together in the family’s
consulting and coffee business. They share the joy of their son, Marshall Danzy Taulbert of Los
Angeles where he has become an Oklahoma entrepreneur in LA.
