Sickle Cell community Highlights

Amari Benson, is the definition of perseverance. Amari Benson was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Although, Amari was diagnosed with Sickle Cell at birth and has endured many challenges living with the disease, she has never let Sickle Cell stop her from being the best she can be! Amari’s faith, spirit, and mindset continues to thrive as she continue to strive through her journey in life. Amari’s works for a nonprofit fatherhood program in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, called TRUE Dads. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Administration: Public and Nonprofit Management degree at the University of Central Oklahoma. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She enjoys traveling, volunteering, watching new movies, and reading books. Amari, is an inspiration of determination. Sickle Cell is not stopping her.
